Trixbox Queues
The Queue functionality seems limited to what I am used to but in a simple environment might prove adequate.
The only Ring Strategy that seems to work is the 'ringall' choice. All others fail to work. I probably need to google about that...
It does support an opening announcement to the caller entering the queue and 'Periodic Announcements'
I don't see how I could put a login/logoff , off-duty, break button on the phone. There don't seem to be any access codes to accomodate ACD either.
There is a fair amount of flexibilty to the 'overflow' or in Trixbox speak ' Fail Over Destination' availability.
I would like to see more options for the agents phones.

Happy New year!
Trixbox and VOIP is quite a time sink. Free VOIP server platforms are quite different than commercial PBX offerings. But then again, I am only really proficient on one manufactureres product line.
One of the most telling benefits of Trixbox is having access to the log files. The commercial offerings don't do this and it can really hamstring your troubleshooting effort.
I was able to watch log files to determine an issue with calling from SiteA to SiteB.
With the log file and Google I was able to determine that it was a bug that appears in all of Grandstreams VOIP phones. At least that is what the site tells me. A factory default of the phone fixed it.
So far I have been able to get SIP and IAX2 trunking to work for closed and open numbering.
I have upgraded the firmware on the GXP2000 to the latest firmware.
I have IVR set up and answering, however, it doesn't recognize DTMF yet.
One ACD split is up and running.
I was able to record the IVR greeting from the phone.
I expect Ring Groups to be just as trivial.
I have more reading to do, needless to say. It looks like Trixbox supports schedules; there is more stuff in the book to be reading up on. Will keep you posted.

12-2010
I have two machines running Trixbox using IAX2 trunking. There are many examples to choose from but this one worked for me
IAX2 trunking
I am able to place calls to either 'Site A' or 'Site B'
Next is ACD, IVR and Ring Groups. Maybe a SIP trunk to test with.
11-2010
I have been programming NEC branded telecommunications equipment for over 15 years.
The latest round of hardware from NEC now has IP telephony built in. Prior to this, the previous platforms did support VOIP but it was a bolted on feature.
True IP phone support is no available as well as SIP trunking. This marks something of a departure point for telephone communications. Now, we are IP enabled from the desktop to the cloud.
Trixbox is a free and open PBX platform and this is my first attempt at setting up a Trixbox network.
