Happy New year!

Trixbox and VOIP is quite a time sink. Free VOIP server platforms are quite different than commercial PBX offerings. But then again, I am only really proficient on one manufactureres product line. One of the most telling benefits of Trixbox is having access to the log files. The commercial offerings don't do this and it can really hamstring your troubleshooting effort. I was able to watch log files to determine an issue with calling from SiteA to SiteB. With the log file and Google I was able to determine that it was a bug that appears in all of Grandstreams VOIP phones. At least that is what the site tells me. A factory default of the phone fixed it. So far I have been able to get SIP and IAX2 trunking to work for closed and open numbering. I have upgraded the firmware on the GXP2000 to the latest firmware. I have IVR set up and answering, however, it doesn't recognize DTMF yet. One ACD split is up and running. I was able to record the IVR greeting from the phone. I expect Ring Groups to be just as trivial. I have more reading to do, needless to say. It looks like Trixbox supports schedules; there is more stuff in the book to be reading up on. Will keep you posted. Anthony
